The NeuroMuscular Centre (NMC) in Winsford is hosting a charity golf day on Thursday, 22 May, 2025, at High Legh Park Golf Club in Cheshire, to raise funds for its work supporting individuals with neuromuscular conditions.
This event offers an opportunity for golf enthusiasts and supporters to enjoy a day on the greens while contributing to a meaningful cause — and this year’s support is bolstered by a strong show of solidarity from across the building services and HVAC sector.
Personal connection drives industry support
Chris Beech, of HVAC distributor CDL, has a direct connection to the NMC, attending the centre regularly for treatment of an ongoing neuromuscular condition. His experience with the centre’s dedicated team has inspired widespread backing from industry colleagues.
Thanks to Chris and the collective support from friends across the HVAC sector, five dedicated teams from the industry will be taking part in the golf day.
Chris said: “Without the NMC, I wouldn’t be able to function physically. I have physio every two weeks which allows me to keep working and mobile. The staff are really helpful, not only for physio treatment but with nutrition and other support. It’s right on my doorstep and is the only one of its kind in the country. I’m lucky in a way that it is so close and I don’t have to travel far.”
About the NMC
Established in 1990, the NMC is the only centre of its kind in the UK, offering a comprehensive suite of services to individuals living with neuromuscular conditions such as muscular dystrophy. Running such a specialist centre costs over £1.2 million a year, and the NMC relies heavily on fundraising and donations to continue its work.
