New IOR President Mike Creamer

Mike Creamer was confirmed as the new President of the Institute of Refrigeration at its AGM, as John Ellis and John Skelton were elected to the Board of Trustees

A member for more than 35 years and a Fellow since 2014, the founder of technology training and certification provider Business Edge said: “I am very honoured to have been charged with this responsibility and will do my very best for this wonderful industry and the excellent people that are part of it.  The IOR provides our industry with a wealth of technical information and advice with particular emphasis on environment, efficiency, safety and innovation.  The IOR is an essential forum for people all over the world to get together to share knowledge and advance refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology applications. It does great work in raising education standards, addressing environmental concerns and providing technical guidance.

“My field performance analysis work regularly shows me the huge air conditioning power consumption within buildings and how as much as 30% can be saved by eliminating inefficiency via simple adjustments. Increasing awareness of this environmental opportunity will be one of my objectives.’’

John Ellis of Ellis Training Works and John Skelton of Marks & Spencer were elected to the IOR Board of Trustees. Outgoing President Kevin Glass thanked all six candidates for standing in the elections and welcomed the new members, as well as thanking Rob Lamb and John Austin-Davies, whose term has now finished.
