“The Warm Homes Plan is the biggest ever public investment to upgrade British homes and has a major focus on renewables,” says Laurence Coatsworth, head of operations at TaskEnergy.

“We’re keen to play our part and have issued these top tips to help social housing providers get the most from renewable technologies for the benefit of their tenants as well we the planet. Installed correctly, renewable energy heating systems can help to reduce bills as well as emissions.”

Under procurement the guidance includes tips such as leveraging frameworks, the importance of feasibility studies and a checklist of accreditations to look out for including MCS, TrustMark and ISO 9001/14001.  In the installation section, advice includes making sure the unit is the correct type and size and highlights the importance of inspections. And under maintenance, the guidance puts regular servicing of equipment in the spotlight.
