Trane has announced the latest additions to its Airfinity range of rooftop air-to-air heat pumps for small to medium commercial or industrial buildings.
The units feature Adaptive Frequency Drive variable speed compressors and are available in capacities from 20 to 65 kW, addressing the needs of small to medium size commercial or industrial buildings. They are said to deliver improved part load efficiency, with Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) up to 5.57 kW/kW and Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) up to 3.38 kW/kW. All models exceed Ecodesign Directive Tier 2 (2021) requirements.
Additional energy-saving features include adaptive airflow with variable speed fans, free cooling and heat recovery. Compatibility with the Trane Tracer Concierge building management system allows facility managers to manage multiple rooftops remotely using a tablet or a smartphone.
Dominique Silva, Product Manager at Trane Europe, said: "With the growing urbanisation rate and increasing number of people spending more time indoors, climate control and air quality become more and more important. Rooftop units with their compact design and multifunctional capabilities are particularly suitable for buildings in urban areas, where space is usually a constraint. With these new additions to the portfolio, Trane is extending the range down to 20kW, giving building owners more choice and flexibility. We now offer a series of units up to 300kW featuring the same controller and capable of working together.''
