Carrier has introduced an upgraded version of the AquaForce 30XF chiller featuring FreeBoost technology, designed to enhance mechanical cooling performance.
This is said to result in improved seasonal efficiency – up to 25 under data centre conditions – enabling best-in-class Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) levels below 1.2. Carrier says the revised unit offers outstanding energy efficiency, a quiet operating environment and ultra-fast 60-120 seconds capacity recovery, even under extreme heat conditions.
“The 30XF’s combination of higher energy efficiency and reduced power input lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO),” said Aritz Calvo, Product Manager for Screw Chillers and Heat Pumps at Carrier Climate Solutions Europe. “Factor in the unit's reduced height to simplify installation into existing infrastructures, and our customers can optimise both their capital and operating expenses.”
Jérémie Chang, Data Centre Vertical Marketing Manager at Carrier Climate Solutions Europe, said: “Because the updated 30XF’s new design lowers the power input, customers now have the choice to either reduce their generator size or increase the IT power capacity, thereby supporting the operation of more servers.”
