Mitsubishi Electric has launched a new range of its City Multi R32 VRF air conditioning which it says is designed to deliver a more sustainable way to heat and cool commercial buildings.
With capacities from 12kW to 112kW in both heat pump and heat recovery versions, the new City Multi R32 YXM is said to deliver improved performances over existing VRF models with a 20% reduction in both running costs and operational carbon, as well as a 10% improvement in energy efficiency (based on a 30kW outdoor unit). The ultra-compact modular system also offers outdoor units with a 6% smaller footprint than average.
City Multi R32 YXM is described as a new, future-proof solution for both retrofit and new-build projects. It has been re-engineered to include a unique patented vertical flat tube heat exchanger, new defrost technology and market-leading levels of seasonal efficiency. It also provides a 30-year lifespan on its BS EN378 compliant low-level leak detectors, compared to the industry average of 10 years.
Available to install from Spring 2026, the City Multi R32 YXM can support up to 50 indoor units from a single outdoor unit, with multiple units combining to offering capacities of up to 112kW.
