CIAT has introduced a new range of VectiosPower rooftop air conditioning units operating on R454B refrigerant, resulting in an overall carbon footprint more than 80% lower than R410A, the refrigerant it replaces.

“We believe VectiosPower operating on R454B offers the best all-round solution for the environment, installers and building occupants,” said Natividad Molero, product manager, rooftops, at CIAT.

“VectiosPower operating on R454B offers all the space-saving and low noise benefits of the previous generation, while using the best refrigerant for rooftop applications, reducing environmental impact and delivering higher efficiencies and lower operating costs.

"And with its advanced indoor air quality technologies, such as high-efficiency filtration, fine air flow control and optional CO₂ sensors, it supports the highest levels of comfort and wellbeing, and aligns with #CIAT4life for the creation of healthier indoor environments.”

The updated VectiosPower range offers the same options as the previous series on R410A, and exceeds Ecodesign 2021 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) requirements for cooling by up to 42% and Seasonal Coefficient of Performance (SCOP) for heating by 10%.

Aligned with CIAT’s goal of providing customers with high-quality, verifiable information on environmental performance, VectiosPower and Vectios were the first rooftop air conditioning products registered under the internationally recognised Ecopassport programme, which is based on the ISO 14025 Environmental Product Declaration standard.

VectiosPower operating on R454B is available in 12 sizes spanning airflow rates from 10,800 to 54,000m3/h, with cooling capacities from 98kW to 273kW, and heating capacities from 98kW to 300kW. The fully Eurovent-certified range is ideal for applications such as supermarkets, cinemas, offices, industrial buildings and food storage facilities.

For installers, VectiosPower units are said to be easy to lift and position on rooftops due to design optimisation and use of lightweight aluminium panels. Once in place, the units simply require electrical connection. For end users and building occupants, VectiosPower units claim low noise with quiet running scroll compressors and fans that adjust their speed to match building load. The latest electronic expansion valves, high-efficiency electronic fans and smart control systems provide this performance.
