The Institute of Refrigeration

The Institute of Refrigeration is delighted to continue to support this practical skills competition as part of a global network of events designed to raise standards and encourage skills in our sector.  The IOR membership includes technicians, apprenticeships, teachers and employers amongst its 2500 members. They are dedicated to improving not just the science but also the practice of refrigeration, airconditioning and heat pumps. The competition fits extremely well with the IOR’s priorities to encourage high standards in training, to support apprentices and colleges and to raise awareness of the fantastic career opportunities in our sector. Time and time again we see the competition participants and winners taking up leadership roles in the industry as their career progresses. We encourage all employers, colleges and apprentices to get involved in this competition and find out what they can do to make the most of the opportunities it provides.  We also invite you to help promote careers in our sector whether by contacting local schools, colleges or taking on apprentices. The IOR has a lot of accessible resources such as youtube films, interviews and a dedicated website to explain careers, training and apprenticeship in a fun and informative way.

Women in RACHP Network

The IOR established a network to promote Women in RACHP with the support of the ACR Journal to coincide with National Women in Engineering Day on 23rd June 2016.

The network is now open to anyone (male or female) working in any RACHP related role such as service & maintenance, design, research, engineering, science, sales, administration, marketing, training, etc. You do not have to be an IOR member to take part.
