Balmer Lawn Hotel in the New Forest has been refurbished with a new heating and cooling system from Samsung. A Wind-Free Cassette was installed in the hotel to replace an existing system that had suffered a major mechanical failure.

Air conditioning supplier GH Coastal designed and installed the cooling solution. The team were briefed to replace the current system and the Wind-Free Cassettes were chosen due to its innovative draught prevention solution.

Samsung says its Wind-Free range is designed to bring new levels of comfort to light commercial and commercial applications. The unique optimised blade design means that the air conditioner disperses air more powerfully, cooling rapidly. Then once in Wind-Free mode, the cool air is dispersed gently through 15700 micro holes, achieving optimum comfort

In addition, the newly-designed Motion Detect Sensor enables customised airflow direction by allowing the user to select the desired comfort level, and facilitates efficient operation by detecting the temperature and the movement in the room.

John Norman, Director at GH Coastal, said: “We regularly use the Samsung product range across multiple sites every year, so for us the Wind-Free unit was an obvious choice for the project. The system was the best suited for this application in terms of comfort, aesthetic appeal and simplicity of use”.

Steve Fleming, Head of Air Conditioning at Samsung, said: “At Samsung, we pride ourselves on the innovation and quality of our products, which leads to them being used in projects like these time and time again. The Wind-Free range has been a popular solution for numerous projects across the UK, thanks to its aesthetically pleasing exterior, simplicity to use, and draught free comfort.”
