David Sowden has joined Chemours Thermal and Specialised Solutions as technical marketing specialist, based in the UK.
He will be supporting the adoption of Opteon low GWP solutions in the EMEA region, providing technical support to distributors and their customers and Chemours’ OEM partners.
David qualified as a marine engineer and has 40 years’ industry experience, the last 33 years being in the HVAC industry.
He began his AC career as a project engineer with York International in the marine division, later becoming responsible for large chiller installations in London.
He also worked as a technical engineer for Dean & Wood covering all products but specialising in industrial and commercial pressure regulation and expansion devices. He later moved to Danfoss as product manager for controls and compressors. His final two years playing a pivotal role in the design and development of Remote Monitoring Software for major UK Supermarkets.
In 2003 David embarked on a commercial career with Copeland (Emerson) as sales manager for UK and Eire, responsible for compressor sales and account management to wholesaler and OEM markets. More recently he has been focussed on comfort applications for AC, heat pump, transport and data centre applications.
David is a Fellow of the IOR and sits on the Service Engineers Section and on the FETA HVAC and Chairs the A2L committee.
