Wholesale group Smith Brothers Stores (SBS) is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2022, with founder Walter Smith laying the foundations of the business in Leicester in 1897.
Smith Brothers has remained family owned, with fifth generation family members now working within the business, and has grown to 17 branches and more than 400 staff across the UK.
The company has evolved through the years from furnishing hundreds of textile mills in Leicester, manufacturing boilers for the shipping industry, assisting with the war efforts, before transitioning to focus on heating, plumbing and air conditioning products for the commercial and industrial sectors.
