The Institute of Refrigeration will highlight the importance of risk assessment and refrigerant safety at its Annual Conference in Birmingham on 12 June.

Members will be able to find out about the most up to date good practice and understand what steps need to be taken to reduce risk to employees, subcontractors and members of the public, particularly with reference to new refrigerants coming into the market.
A new Guidance Note from the IOR on Point of Work Risk Assessment will be launched at the conference, providing a template with the key risk areas a technician needs to consider before they start work.

The event will include several case study presentations, a step by step guide on assessing risk by John Ellis and an overview of safety and risk related to the use of flammable refrigerants by Dermot Cotter.
