Dave Kingston, who worked with tools and ancillaries specialist JAVAC for over 28 years, has died after a short battle with cancer.

Former JAVAC Managing Director Steve Davies worked with Dave for the best part of three decades and said: "Dave was a big guy with a big heart and he will be sadly missed by so many people in the industry, his family and his many friends.

Dave's career with JAVAC started in 1990 as a workshop engineer before he became sales manager. He specialised in automotive and industrial refrigeration applications and was regarded as the master in leak detection and refrigerant recovery.

Steve added: "In the early 90s Dave was one of the first exponents of refrigerant recovery and helped JAVAC develop its machines throughout the UK.

"In the last few year Dave turned all his knowledge into training as he wanted to give something back to the younger generation of engineers. He liked nothing better than standing up in front of a large class of inquisitive apprentices and talking about applications and quick fixes. Dave was the type of engineer who always just got the job done.''

Following the acquisition of JAVAC into the Aspen Pumps Group, Dave became Aspen Group Training Officer. He retired due to ill health in January this year.
