Air treatment and climate control specialist Munters has received an order valued at $30million from a commercial battery cell producer in the US.
The customer is a leading US manufacturer of battery cells for heavy and medium duty vehicles. The order includes Munters LDP (low dew point) dehumidifiers – exclusively developed for extremely demanding battery dry room manufacturing – as well as other high-performance desiccant dehumidification units and field service work.
“We are very proud to have secured this order from a new customer, a testament that our mission-critical solutions and broad application knowledge position us well despite the current challenging battery market,” said Henrik Teiwik, President of Munters' AirTech business. “While we expect this current market environment to persist through 2026, we see electrification and the transition to a low-carbon economy as an important long-term growth driver for AirTech.”
Munters LDP is developed for processes which require ultra-dry air at low temperatures and features the HPX rotor, which is specifically designed for applications with a low dew point (the temperature at which water vapor condenses). The system and rotor are able to create production environments with dew points as low as -110°F (-78°C) and when combined with other Munters technologies, even lower.
Deliveries are expected to take place during the second and third quarters of 2026.
