Cold store specialist ISD Solutions has announced a senior management reshuffle due to a change in role for company CEO Andy Moon.

The Gloucester-based firm, a trading division of The P&M Group, employs more than 100 staff and trades across the UK and internationally.
Mr Moon, whose grandfather Edgar Moon founded the company in 1947, will become chairman of The P&M Group. His key responsibilities will be to represent the interests of shareholders, to guide the business and to ensure its culture and values are upheld.

Mr Moon will also continue to play an active role in areas of particular interest, including training, raising standards and further increasing the company’s environmental credentials.

Tony Wall will become group managing director and will champion the ISD Solutions global brand, as well as facilitating new opportunities in areas such as pipe insulation and roofing and cladding. He will continue his current commercial role in terms of group sales activity but will increasingly focus on business development.

Adrian Smith, who has been technical director at ISD Solutions since 2010, will become the new managing director of ISD Solutions.

Completing the board of The P&M Group is Gareth Ross, who is financial director at the company he joined in 2007.

The boardroom changes come into effect to coincide with the company’s new financial year on February 1.

Mr Moon, who turns 61 in April said: “With exciting times ahead this is definitely not retirement. However, I will greatly reduce the operational things I do and, at the same time, it is an opportunity to refine the structure of the company.

“Tony and Adrian have collectively been with the business for almost 60 years. Between them, they have unrivalled knowledge of our industry and our particular niche specialisms and I am confident that, under our joint leadership and as appetite for quality composite solutions grows, we can develop ISD and The P&M Group even further.

“I would like to thank Tony and Adrian for their contribution to making the company what it is today and I congratulate them on their new positions.”

ISD Solutions started life in premises in Hempsted Lane in Gloucester in 1947. The company survived the River Severn floods that year and, more than seven decades later, is now based in the 125 Business Park next to Gloucester Docks – its home since 1997.

Mr Moon said: “You often hear of family businesses where members of the family squabble and fight amongst themselves. I have been very lucky to have always had the unconditional and unhindered support of all the shareholders, in particular my father and brother when they were alive.

“This harmonious backdrop has also been replicated in my working relationship with the rest of the board. This is not always the case in other businesses.

“I am proud of what we have achieved together and am looking forward to the future of the business.”
