Daikin Europe will dedicate a booth to refrigeration for the first time at Chillventa (October 11-13), underlining its commitment to the use of natural refrigerants with the launch of two new products.
The 'Monoblock of the future' is described by Daikin as an ideal commercial refrigeration solution for limited spaces based on R290 (propane), while the CO₂ ZEAS range of compact, high efficiency condensing units is said to combine performance with a small footprint, low energy running cost and low noise.
Olivier Lagrabette, senior manager, refrigeration, said “We specifically chose Chillventa this year, with its focus on topics including sustainability, energy efficiency and indoor air quality, to announce our commitment to contribute to society by providing environmentally friendly and energy efficient systems for the whole cold chain.
“Our commitment for using natural refrigerants coupled with Daikin renowned energy efficiency and reliability is our answer to growing market and societal needs and is crucial in transitioning to a zero-emissions future.''
Monoblock of the future: R290 has an extremely low GWP and no ozone depletion potential, and Daikin says inverter technology means the unit is highly energy efficient, operates with low noise and represents a low total cost of ownership. The compact units can also be mounted in ceilings and come with a remote monitoring system with a dedicated app and cloud services.
CO₂ ZEAS: The full packaged condensing units, available in 8-12HP and 15HP models, provide energy efficient natural refrigerant cooling to display cabinets and evaporators from -40°C to +5°C. High energy efficiency is due to Daikin's two stage technology which ensures a lower compression ratio at each step, lower energy consumption, lower discharge temperature, lower stress on the compressor and longer lifetime.
