Daikin says the scheme will help installers prepare for the predicted growth in demand for renewables Daikin says the scheme will help installers prepare for the predicted growth in demand for renewables

Daikin has launched a new Sustainable Home Network partnership scheme to help ACR and heat pumps installers prepare for the expected growth in demand for renewables.

The UK domestic heating market is on course to change dramatically over the next 10 years, with the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) predicting that around one million heat pump installations will need to take place annually, if society is to meet the government’s net zero targets on carbon emissions.

Recognising the huge shift in consumer demand this will present to F-Gas certified companies, Daikin has launched its Sustainable Home Network programme, which it says is designed to spearhead growth in the domestic renewables market and help ACR and heat pump installers prepare their business. The scheme is aimed at those either already experienced in installing heat pumps or previously specialising in air conditioning systems, with a support programme that helps these businesses to maximise the new and wider market opportunities created by the rising consumer interest around renewable heating.

The initiative forms part of Daikin’s wider Energy for Change campaign, to raise consumer awareness of renewable energy systems and the benefits of heat pumps. Increasing consumer demand through a coordinated series of regional and national marketing activities and mobile showrooms, the campaign will generate qualified leads and create a solid customer-base for its Sustainable Home Network of trained installers.

The Sustainable Home Network offers heat-pump and ACR installers a structured programme designed to provide the necessary support and tools needed to help their business grow and to turn this new market demand to their advantage.

Experienced heat pump installers, fully capable of installing Daikin’s full product range, may enter the programme as a Sustainable Home Expert, offering enhanced business support to capitalise on the market demand. Here, installers will have access to Daikin’s comprehensive range of low-temperature, high-temperature and hybrid solutions. They will also benefit from unlimited free product training, extended 5-year system warranties, co-branded marketing materials and access to Daikin’s business development fund.

For those unfamiliar with Daikin products or requiring a skills refresh, a comprehensive range of training and support is available to ensure all installers can progress to Expert level and enjoy all the benefits of the scheme.

Daikin is also launching Sustainable Home Centres, as an opportunity for businesses to progress further and be at the forefront of the eco-friendly home heating market. Sustainable Home Centres will become the face of Daikin heat pump technology, a hub for consumers to visit and learn more about renewable heating solutions, as well as providing support for Sustainable Home Installers in the local area.

Speaking about the launch, Iain Bevan, Commercial Manager – Heating & Renewables at Daikin, said: “In addition to the UK’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and the CCC’s target of one million heat pumps installed per annum by 2030, society as a whole has become increasingly carbon conscious. With this in mind, we expect to see the demand for renewable energy systems, such as heat pumps, rising over the coming years.

“It’s a truly exciting time for the whole heating industry, particularly for heat-pump and ACR installers, as an increase in market size and consumer demand also brings with it the potential for significant business growth. Many installers will already possess the skills and know-how needed from a technical point of view; however, the shift from the commercial sector to the domestic may present itself as a challenge. This is where our Sustainable Home Network really comes into play, providing installers with the business support needed to turn this change to their advantage, ensuring that they have the necessary business strategies in place to help them progress, grow and stand out from the competition.

“We’ve already created the leading technology to support the move to sustainable energy sources; now, we’re looking to build a loyal, skilled network of installers to join us in being part of the energy for change.”
