Temperature-controlled logistics provider Lineage has expanded its UK fleet with a further 41 refrigerated trailers from Schmitz Cargobull for use on its wholesaler and major supermarket contracts.

Expected to deliver at least a decade of intensive use, the trailers join a 500-strong fleet, approximately 70% of which are from Schmitz Cargobull.
Will Maycock, head of transport for Lineage, said: “We have been working with Schmitz Cargobull for 25 years and know we can trust their trailers to provide excellent value for money. And with the support we receive from the Service Partner network, we’re confident the new reefers will have a long service life, and we’ll get a good return on our investment.”

The latest generation of reefers from Schmitz Cargobull are said to be lower in height and lighter than competitors’ trailers, optimising fuel-efficiency by reducing drag, without compromising on interior payload capacity

The reefers are equipped with Carrier Transicold Vector 1550 single temperature units.

Lineage delivers more than 12,000 pallets a day from its 14 cold stores throughout the UK.
