In the build-up the main event in New York, the 'Clivet Ryder Cup' was staged at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales.
Clivet hosted two teams of customers, blue from the south-west and red from the south, and a total of 62 golfers went head-to-head.
The red team were declared winners at the end of the day, with captain Paul Williams performing a lap of honour around the venue. The celebrations were short-lived, however, after a recount found that the blue team were the actual winners!

Following a successful day, main host and organiser Matt Jenkins now aims to make the competition an annual event.
