A growing number of Aermec’s UK employees are learning Italian as they seek to strengthen bonds with their colleagues at the company’s factory in Italy.

An estimated 83 million people around the world speak Italian, with around 21 million naming it as their second language, and Aermec’s Italian Business Support Administrator Lara Musina is adding to those numbers by running twice-weekly language courses at the company’s Rochford offices, with remote workers joining in on-line.

Although most employees at Aermec in Bevilacqua speak English, the UK employees wanted to learn Italian to provide a closer tie when liaising with colleagues. Aermec UK Managing Director Paul Lawrence is amongst those already conversationally proficient.

Lara Musina said: “Learning a new language brings everyone together and provides a better cultural understanding of our colleagues across the Aermec family. As we are a global company with an international customer base, learning Italian will help develop and improve client relationships and access new markets.

“Life is all about new experiences, learning no matter where you are in your career or business and showing a commitment to professional development. As we say in Italy…Meglio tardi che mai – better late than never!
