Manufacturer Aermec is showing its support for mental wellbeing in the HVAC industry on World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September).
Lucy Hutchins, Aermec UK's Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Manager, is also a mental health first aider. She said: “Taking care of HVAC plant and equipment is important but so is taking care of mental health. Employers have a vital role to play by creating supportive environments and normalising talking about mental health.
“Mental health is a very human issue that can affect jobsite safety, productivity and home life. We can become a much stronger and healthier industry by highlighting mental wellness in the workplace.”
The theme for this year’s World Suicide Prevention Day is Changing the Narrative on Suicide and encourages companies to implement strategies and actions to help prevent suicide.
