Gas detection manufacturer Safe Monitoring Group has completed the acquisition of Hungarian company Szenzortechnika as it continues its expansion policy. The move follows the recent acquisition of Schick Gaswarnanlagen in Germany.

Szenzortechnika specialises in the development, sales, and service of gas detection systems. Its solutions protect thousands of facilities, including gas and petrochemical industries, underground car parks, chemical factories, paint factories, and wineries, from hazardous gas leaks.

As part of Safe Monitoring Group, Szenzortechnika will collaborate with other group companies in key operational areas such as development, sales, marketing, procurement and service.

István Gál, CEO and former co-owner of Szenzortechnika, said: “This is an important step forward, which will make us stronger and even better equipped to meet the future demands in our markets.”

“I have had the pleasure of getting to know Szenzortechnika over the past year and I am very impressed by their professionalism and extensive skillset and experience within gas detection,” said Henric Wendel, CFO of Safe Monitoring Group. “We look forward to growing the business together. This acquisition marks another step in our strategy to expand both geographically and across applications through organic growth and targeted acquisitions.”

Safe Monitoring Group has acquired 100% of the shares in Szenzortechnika. As part of the deal, the sellers have reinvested a portion of the proceeds and are now shareholders in Safe Monitoring Group. They will remain actively involved in the ongoing development of the business.
