BITZER appoints new chairman

Christian Wehrle has been appointed chairman of the executive board at compressor manufacturer BITZER, with Rainer Große-Kracht named vice-chairman.

Wehrle, a long-standing member of the executive board and chief operations officer, will remain in charge of operations as chief executive officer. Große-Kracht will continue as chief technology officer alongside fellow board members Martin Büchsel, chief sales and marketing officer, and Frank Hartmann, chief financial officer.

Wehrle joined the company in 2001 as plant manager, first in Sindelfingen, then from 2003 in Rottenburg am Neckar in the international competence centre for screw compressors. In 2007 he took over the management of production sites worldwide as chief production officer and since mid-2015 has been in charge of the group's supply chain as chief operations officer.

Chief technology officer Rainer Große-Kracht has been appointed vice-chairman

Große-Kracht is responsible for research and development worldwide. A mechanical engineer with over two decades of experience in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, he has worked for BITZER since 1997. In 2018, he was elected chairman of the Association of European Refrigeration Component Manufacturers (ASERCOM).
