Ideal Heating is calling on installers to “Inspect Your Toolkit” in a campaign to raise awareness of testicular cancer.
The UK’s domestic and commercial heating market leader has worked with OddBalls to design a pair of limited-edition underwear that will be given away exclusively at the InstallerSHOW – while stocks last.
With the vast majority of the UK heating industry’s 120,000 registered installers being men, Ideal Heating believes testicular cancer is an important issue for the business to raise awareness of.
Typical symptoms are a painless swelling or lump in one of the testicles. Testicular cancer mainly develops in men aged between 15-49 and is highly treatable and curable, with a 90% chance of success if detected early.
Around 2,300 men are diagnosed with testicular cancer every year in the UK, and it is most commonly detected through self-examination.
Check yourself guides, in partnership with the OddBalls Foundation to support the campaign, will be handed out with the underwear at the event.
The OddBalls Foundation is a charity that seeks to raise awareness of testicular cancer and promote male health nationally and internationally.
Luke Pykett, Head of Brand Marketing for Ideal Heating, said: “This campaign is our way of raising awareness of testicular cancer and helping to prevent unnecessary deaths by early detection.
“Regular self-examination is the most common form of early detection and only takes a minute but is something that many men still don’t do.
“It’s an incredibly important issue, but we’re having a little bit of fun with the giveaway to installers to bring it to their attention and encourage them to engage with the campaign.”
The InstallerSHOW 2023 will take place at the NEC, Birmingham, from June 27-29 and is the UK’s number one destination for influential installers and specifiers of heat, water, air and energy technology.
Luke said: “We’ll have a big presence at InstallerSHOW, as ever, so this will provide the perfect opportunity to further spread the word with tens of thousands of installers in attendance.”
