Sterling Hydrotech, a Marlowe Environmental Services (MES) company, is one of just 800 companies in the UK to be granted the Royal Warrant. Sterling was granted this significant accolade at the beginning of June following nearly 10 years of water treatment services at Buckingham Palace.

Initially employed to refurbish Buckingham Palace's Victorian pool, including filtration, circulation pumps, plate heat exchanger and upgrades to cast iron and PVC pipe work, plus new pool grilles and part retiling, during the last nine years, Sterling has continued to maintain this equipment. Serving the Royal Household for over five years is a condition of the Royal Warrant.

Sarah Barnard, Head of Operations Pool Division and Daryl Hutchinson, Director of Sales from Sterling joined an evening reception on 3rd June at Buckingham Palace where they were granted the Royal Warrant by His Majesty the King, alongside more than 70 new warranty holders from across the country.

James Greenwood Head of Sales for the Engineering Division within Marlowe Environmental Services said: "I'm incredibly proud that Sterling Hydrotech has been granted a Royal Warrant in recognition of our services in the maintenance of swimming pools for His Majesty the King.

"This honour is a true testament to the expertise, dedication, and exceptional craftsmanship of our entire team. As Head of Sales, I've had the privilege of working closely with clients who expect nothing but the highest standards—and this recognition reflects the trust they place in us.

"Whether it's a private residence, estate, or leisure facility, we've always strived to deliver bespoke pool solutions with precision, innovation, and care. The Royal Warrant is a mark of excellence, and we're committed to upholding its values in everything we do.

"We align with the Royal Warrant requirements for sustainable and environmentally sustainable solutions, especially in these times of high energy prices, reducing total cost of operation is something that Sterling excels in and we are grateful that this has been recognised.

"A heartfelt thank you to our clients, partners, and colleagues who have been part of this journey."

About the Royal Warrant

Royal Warrants are granted by the King, representing a huge cross-section of trade and industry, from individual craftspeople to global multi-nationals. Warrant-holding firms do not provide their goods or services for free to the Royal Households, and all transactions are conducted on a strictly commercial basis.

A Royal Warrant is initially granted for up to five years to a named individual at a company, known as the "Grantee".  An official Royal Warrant Display Document is sent to the Grantee which provides evidence of the authority to use the Royal Arms.

All Royal Warrants are reviewed by the Royal Household Warrants Committee in the year before they are due to expire.
