Installers in the East Midlands now have a new Ideal Heating training hub on their doorstep.

Ideal Heating’s Expert Academy training arm has expanded its UK operations with the opening of the Pochin Ideal Renewables Training Centre, in conjunction with Pochin P&H Supplies.

The training facility is located in the heart of Leicester, a short walk away from the city centre train station, providing easy transport links for visitors.

It means installers in Leicestershire and surrounding areas now have easy access to Ideal’s industry-leading range of training courses, helping them master the company’s portfolio of gas boilers, heat pumps and other heating products.

Ideal Heating’s Expert Academy spans the whole of the UK. In April this year, Ideal unveiled its new Training and Technology Centre in Dunstable, near Luton.

The company is investing millions in its training facilities, including the Expert Academy’s flagship National Training and Technology Centre in East Yorkshire.

Ideal Heating Training Director Andrew Johnson said: “We want our training courses to be as accessible for installers as possible. We know taking time out of busy diaries can be a challenge, and when you add in travel time, that commitment becomes even greater.

“That’s why, through our Expert Academy, we’re opening new training centres across the UK, giving installers a greater choice of where, and when, they learn.

“Our new training base in Leicester, set up with Pochin P&H Supplies, will play an important role in helping more installers become low carbon heating engineers, gaining the skills and expertise needed to work with market-leading products like our own Logic Air heat pump.”

The centre features a dedicated Ideal Heating room which is kitted out with the company’s products, including its domestic heat pump and boiler ranges.

Ideal Heating is leading the industry’s transition to low carbon solutions, and upskilling the UK’s 130,000-plus gas engineers to work with heat pumps is critical to achieving the country’s net zero ambitions.

A third of all of the UK’s carbon emissions are produced by buildings and a quarter of that figure is generated by heating those buildings.

Representatives from both Ideal Heating and Pochin officially opened the new training space at a special event held on June 4.

David Pochin, Executive Chairman at Pochin P&H Supplies, said: “We’re delighted to be working in conjunction with Ideal Heating to provide much-needed additional training facilities within the Leicestershire area.

“Pochin Renewable Heating Solutions has ambitious plans to develop the opportunities in the market for renewables technologies, and an important step in our plans was taken with today’s launch of the Pochin Ideal Renewables Training Centre.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the first installers come through our door, complete their training and leave with the skills and expertise needed to drive our industry’s transition to a greener, bright future.”

Installers looking to access the range of training courses available at the Pochin Ideal Renewables Training Centre can do so by contacting their Ideal Heating Area Sales Manager.
