Flexenergy will showcase the benefits of polybutene pre-insulated pipe in district heating schemes at Ecobuild (Excel, London, 7-9 March).

Flexenergy is one of the UK’s leading pipe and valve specialists for DHS and is an experienced product partner for consulting engineers, energy managers and contractors involved in the design and specification of heating and hot and chilled water distribution systems.
The company, exhibiting in the UKDEA Town Square, is the sole distributor in the UK and Ireland of Flexalen pre-insulated pipe technology, manufactured by Thermaflex. The low carbon pipe delivers significant heat loss benefits and energy efficiency gains to district heating schemes and sustainable energy projects, such as biomass CHP, geothermal and heat recovery networks.

Flexenergy has also developed a pre-insulated valve system, V-Flex, which enables district and community heating scheme zones to be isolated for maintenance and network extension.

Sales Director Sandy Fairley said: “Together with our colleagues from Thermaflex, we are very much looking forward to talking to network designers and specifiers about the products we now have available. We will be able to outline the thermal efficiency and whole-life cost advantages of using pre-insulated polybutene pipe technology in DHS projects, as well as the benefits of the new V-Flex valve system. Thermaflex will also be able to provide visitors with a technical insight into DHS network design using pipe technology that has recently achieved ‘Cradle to Cradle’ eco certification.
