Case study: Heron Foods picks Cubo2 Smart CO2 condensing units
North East refrigeration engineers H.A. Davie have installed four SCM Cubo2 Smart condensing units from Dean & Wood at a new-build Heron Foods store in Stockton-on-Tees.
H. A. Davie, based in Houghton-le-Spring, were approached by Heron Foods to look at alternative, environmentally friendly refrigerants which would offer a more stable price and availability in the future. After some research, CO2 seemed the obvious choice.
The Ecostar units on site at Westgate Frozen Foods
A poultry and meat specialist has seen the efficiency of its food production facility transformed following the installation of two BITZER Ecostar condensing units.
The LHV7E/4CE-9.F3Y cooling systems, installed by Desiccant DryAir Systems Ltd of Morecombe for Westgate Frozen Foods in Lancaster, are equipped with the latest generation mini-channel condensers, high efficiency EC fans and BITZER’s latest Ecoline varispeed compressor.
BITZER’s Ecostar condensing units have been accepted onto the UK government’s Energy Technology List (ETL). The listing includes all models within the Ecostar range of air-cooled condensing units.
Acceptance onto the ETL is reserved for products that are proven to meet a minimum level of energy performance. End users gain a tax advantage on capital used to purchase ETL-listed equipment, as they can claim Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) against purchases. The scheme is part of the UK’s programme to cut energy use and reduce national carbon emissions.
Eight Toshiba VRF condensing units have been installed at the Bannatyne Health Club and Spa in Peterborough
A health club and spa in Peterborough has been equipped with a Toshiba heat recovery air conditioning system as part of a major refurbishment.
The Toshiba variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system is now providing high-performance, energy-efficient cooling and heating for the gym, exercise studios, treatment rooms, salon, offices, reception and bar area at The Bannatyne Health Club and Spa.
