Engineers from refrigerant specialists A-Gas created a cart based on an electrical-powered Rapid Recovery unit as they raised money for charity in the Portishead Soap Box Derby.
The A-Gas team, with Sam Pearce at the wheel, finished a creditable 11th out of the 40 entrants, who were there to raise money for St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol.
A team of nine from Climalife UK took part in the 5km Race for Life event over the Downs in Bristol to raise money for Cancer Research UK. To date, the team has raised just over £1,500 including Gift Aid.
Thousands of men, women, children and dogs took part, enjoying the fantastic atmosphere created by the Race for Life event team and the hundreds of spectators lining the route.
The Bristol 5k Race for Life is one of over 150 events held across the country each year. Funds raised through the Race for Life go to Cancer Research UK who fund laboratories, tests and treatments for over 200 types of cancer.
Clients, consultants and employees of Cannock-based air conditioning installer Coolair Equipment have raised more than £80,000 for a cancer charity by cycling 300 miles through South East Asia.
Coolair Regional Director Neil Gibbard led the 17-strong group on the six-day journey from Saigon in Vietnam to Angkor Wat in Cambodia in aid of Challenge Cancer UK.
