NIBE welcomes HPA report

​NIBE Energy Systems has welcomed the publication of a report setting out the role of heat pumps in delivering a Net Zero future.
 
The Heat Pump Association (HPA) report underlines the urgent need to increase the installation of heat pumps across the UK. As a member of the HPA, NIBE has fed into the development of the paper and says the government must take advantage of upcoming policy decisions to encourage the deployment of heat pumps and begin the process of heat decarbonisation.

Grant UK has appointed two Renewable Business Development Managers to provide increased sales support in the sector.

David Garcia joined the company in November and has extensive experience of working with renewables. He will be working with installers, specifiers and developers wanting to work with greener home heating technologies, providing sales support on ranges such as Grant’s Aerona³ R32 air source heat pumps.

Room at the inn for heat pump efficiency

A 17th Century former drovers inn in Norfolk has updated its heating system with the latest air source heat pump technology thanks to renewable heating expert Finn Geotherm.
 
Located near Swaffham, the four bedroom period cottage was built in 1832. It was formerly a drovers inn and comprised two semi-detached cottages which were later knocked into one. When the current owners moved in, they inherited the cottage’s 35 year old oil boiler. The oil tank needed to be replaced and moved it away from the house to meet modern safety regulations.

Grant says its product portolio has increased substantially over the last 18 month and the brochure features its Aerona³ R32 air source heat pumps, hybrids, cylinders, solar thermal systems and heat emitters including fan convectors, underfloor heating and aluminum radiator

Grant UK reports that hundreds of prizes have been handed out at the halfway point of its intsaller promotion, with hundreds more ready to be won in the remaining draws.

The Heat Pump Association (HPA) has announced an event at Westminster for the launch of its ‘Roadmap’ document. The report outlines the heat pump industry’s vision for how the deployment of heat pumps can scale up to meet net zero by 2050.
 
The event, Heat Pumps – Transforming the UK Home Heating Market Roadmap & Vision for the Future, takes place in the Attlee Suite, Portcullis House, on  November 20  and is open to invited guests only.

Aberla boosts Manchester's carbon neutral pledge

Aberla will be responsible for the design and installation of systems across the region
Aberla Renewables has secured a contract to provide energy saving heating solutions which will support Greater Manchester’s pledge to be carbon neutral by 2038.

Aberla will deliver the air source heat pump roll-out for the Greater Manchester partners of the ‘Homes as Energy Systems’ (HaES) project, which is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Toshiba joined forces with Cornwall New Energy at a recent industry event to highlight the benefits of using air source heat pumps for low carbon, renewable heating for businesses and homes.

Cornwall New Energy, funded by the European Regional Development Fund, organised the event for business leaders, engineers and managers at The Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre at Treliske, near Truro. Delegates included representatives from universities, architect practices, a local brewery, property management companies, consultants and building companies.

A new feature at this year's Low Carbon Homes event in Manchester next month will see the heat pump industry demonstrating its role in helping the city to meet its 2038 zero carbon ambition.

In association with Manchester City Council, Manchester Climate Change Agency and other stakeholders, Low Carbon Homes opens on November 14 at Manchester’s Friends Meeting House to tackle the particular challenges of retrofit across the city region.  A major new feature for 2019 is Heat Pump Focus - an event within an event - featuring heat pump associations, manufacturers, system designers and installers.
