Technical sales engineer Teresa Standen from Pipe Center’s Valvestock business raised more than £2,000 for charity by having her head shaved.

Teresa raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, the chosen charity of Pipe Center’s parent company Wolseley UK. She also donated her hair to the charity Little Princess Trust, which produces wigs for children who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment.
Teresa’s colleagues at Valvestock downed tools to witness her having her long locks cut off and to show their support. Branch manager Biff Baker and engineer Roger Heap also had their heads shaved.

Teresa said: “Having experienced first-hand the heartache that cancer can cause it’s the least I could do to make a difference.  I’ve been overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity and never imagined we would raise so much more than the original £500 target. Thanks to everyone who has kindly donated.”
