Samsung introduced its new '360 Circular Cassette', high-performance 'DVM S 30HP' VRF, DVM S Eco 14HP side discharge VRF unit and energy efficient DVM Chiller.
The launch comes in the wake of an ambitious announcement Samsung's president and CEO of consumer electronics business, BK Yoon, that the new air conditioning products will help the company achieve $10 billion in sales a year by 2020.
The New 360 Circular Cassette Design

Samsung claims that its 360 Circular design cools rooms more quickly as a result of its design, up to 34 percent faster, in fact. In addition, the even air distribution removes cold drafts in rooms which is a common complaint from people living and working in rooms cooled with four-way cassettes.
End users will like the ability to fit the 360 Circular cassette either in an exposed or unexposed fashion to suit their design needs. The panel has an 'intuitive display' from which users can adjust the air flow. The units can be controlled remotely too.
Samsung's New VRF - DVM S 30HP

There are some new features in the DVM 30HP system, including a new 'Super Inverter Scroll Compressor with flash technology' and a more efficiently placed bypass valve which will add nearly a third more heating capacity than previous systems.
There is a more heat exchange area thanks to a new 'hybrid heat exchanger'. There is 10 percent more efficiency because of better refrigerant control. A further 17 percent efficiency comes from a new ovel-shaped diffuser which creates better airflow.
Leak detection, a hot industry topic, is addressed through a new detection system. Refrigerant pump down happens automatically when it detects a leak, and the gas is isolated when the valves are closed.
The new DVM S Eco 14HP side discharge VRF unit

The unit contains a tough Inverter Scroll Compressor and 'corrugate fin'. These features provide 20 percent more heating performance and 10 percent more air flow compared to regular side discharge VRF units.
The DVM S Eco has more horse power (up to 14HP) which means only one outdoor is required to provide air conditioning for office buildings or block of flats. Having a single outdoor unit means it will cost less than equivalent multiple unit set ups.
Better piping length (up to 160 metres) and 50 metres installation height means all parts of the building are covered by the new VRF unit. The DVM S Eco unit is small too (940mm wide) which means it be easier to install in more places. Four-way piping makes installation easier too.
The New Samsung DVM Chiller

The company introduced because of demand for 'water-source HVAC', as a result of EU F-Gas level regulations. In response, Samsung made this air-cooled chiller which is more efficient, easy to use and smaller.
The DVM Chiller uses less refrigerant than other chillers, which means it complies with 2015 EU refrigerant quota levels. It will also meet the 35 reduction due in 2018.
Samsung is excited about its 'revolutionary DVM Chiller'. The unit delivers more than 75 percent of heating capacity at -20 degrees C ambient temperature. Samsung says the chiller can reduce energy costs by between 36 and 50 percent compared to traditional chillers.
Moreover, the DVM Chiller, as well as heating, it provides cold water via its 'thermal ice storage with an in-built pressure and temperature sensor. This prevents it breaking down after 'freeze-bursts'.
