Engineers from industrial refrigeration specialist Pennine Environmental Services praised the benefits of a training course in screw compressor technology at Green Point UK, Bitzer’s compressor remanufacturing arm.
Three of the contractor’s refrigeration engineers, two experienced and one trainee, attended the one-day course at Green Point UK’s headquarters in Milton Keynes.
Training sessions were led by Mick Nicholson, Green Point’s senior compressor remanufacturing technician, and covered design and operation of screw compressors, and offered practical experience in fault diagnosis.
The engineers were tasked with disassembling a returned semi-hermetic screw compressor and assessing the reasons for failure. The project was completed by reassembling an open-type unit to full operational status.
Will Pribyl, general manager of Green Point UK, said: “We were delighted to be able to offer this tailored course for Pennine Refrigeration, and that it proved such a worthwhile day. We are now offering similar tailored courses for customers wishing to update their engineers on compressor technology, and are happy to discuss requirements on a case-by-case basis with interested companies.”
