Building services provider J S Wright has secured a £10.5m contract to help regenerate a former industrial district of east London.
The mechanical and electrical design and build specialist is to equip the first two phases of a new 580-home canalside development at Fish Island Village in Hackney Wick.
J S Wright will provide the accommodation with energy efficient combined heat and power by installing a centralised energy centre and a pipe network to deliver low pressure hot water from the unit to each apartment through heat interface units.
The company will also equip each apartment with energy efficient underfloor heating and an eco-friendly internal rainwater system as well as install a booster set and tank room for delivering instant cold water to all the properties.
The brief also includes fitting a mechanical ventilation heat recovery system that will use the outgoing air from each apartment to heat incoming fresh air.
