Fujitsu has confirmed its partnership with Glasgow Kelvin College with the official opening of a new training workshop.
Technical Manager Martyn Ives travelled north for the opening of the Fujitsu Suite, which boasts a range of multi and VRF units. Many of the Kelvin students are apprentices with leading installers, providing a significant benefit to Scottish business by ensuring that their employees have up-to-the-minute industry standard skillsets.
Principal Alan Sherry said: “We are very excited to be forming this new partnership with an industry-leading manufacturer like Fujitsu and reaching this milestone is a testament to the hard work of the lecturing staff whose expertise has made this possible. It is also a further demonstration of Fujitsu’s commitment to the high-quality learning provided by the college.
“There will be clear benefits for our students and their employers, providing them with the technical skills which will help them stand out in a busy marketplace. Hosting the pioneering Fujitsu Training Workshop here at Glasgow Kelvin College will also allow us to develop further our relationships with industry stakeholders. We are delighted to be playing our part in this new development.”
John McGregor, Curriculum Manager, said: "As the sole Further Education training centre in Scotland for Air Conditioning and Refrigeration modern apprenticeships, we welcome this opportunity to work alongside Fujitsu. This collaborative venture will ensure that the students will have state of the art equipment to enhance their learning experience and equally have access to seminars hosted at the college and delivered by Fujitsu. We look forward to this innovative partnership developing further over the coming years with the advent of newer, cleaner air conditioning solutions offered by Fujitsu and promoted here at GKC.
"I would like to thank the staff and the Fujitsu team for the foresight and enthusiasm needed to have what we now have here for our learners today and those in the future."
Martyn Ives said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity to be working with Glasgow Kelvin, who have a great reputation both in the area and nationally, and we look forward to working them to provide quality training for students and businesses from across Scotland and beyond.”
