Daikin hopes the new centre will make it easier for their researchers to work with government, academia and industry. The TIC should make collaborating with internal and external groups simpler and quicker, as well as helping the company to attract talented people into Daikin.
The new, slick offices have been designed to make it easier for Daikin's engineers to communicate and innovate on projects and products.
Aside from the nice working environment, Daikin's TIC uses individually controlled multi-split air conditioners to provide the most appropriate humidity and ventilation. Daikin hopes the AC technology will help them to gain the top rank in 'green building certification'. The site includes its own thermal storage and heating using exhaust heat recovery. Much of the building's power will come from solar panels. A building and energy management system controls its heating, cooling and energy use.
