Cool Designs Limited (CDL), the Sunderland-based air conditioning distributor, has been appointed as a CIAT distributor, the company announced this week.
Well-known for its Toshiba distribution business, VRF and splits air conditioning expertise, CDL is eyeing up ambitious growth in the UK with its new CIAT distributorship. CDL sees a big opening for the CIAT hydronic HVAC systems, and other specialisations.
“The DX and chilled water sectors obviously cater for different sides of the market. Our core business to date has been built in DX technology with a smaller involvement with Carrier hydronic systems. However, the addition of CIAT is highly complementary to our existing ranges, and gives us access to a new category of projects, enabling us to expand our offering to existing customers and win new ones.”
What does it mean for CDL and their customers?
Darrel Birkett stated:
“We will be bringing the same level of professionalism and technical support for which we have become well known in the DX sector, to the chilled water sector.”
It is no accident that CDL is now able to distribute the CIAT range. United Technologies Corporation (UTC), parent company of Toshiba Carrier, bought CIAT recently, and the business is investing heavily in research and development in its French operation to find new products and solutions.
CIAT has been around for over 80 years, has nine factories and sells in 70 countries. CDL already has CIAT-based projects in their pipeline.
