Carrier is supplying two high performance, high efficiency air-cooled chillers for a new research and development centre at one of the UK’s leading engineering companies.
The AquaSnap 30RBP 430 liquid chillers, with Greenspeed intelligence and based on Carrier scroll compressors, will augment existing Carrier chillers at the company’s headquarters, providing a total of 2000kW of cooling for the new R&D facility, administrative offices, and catering and communal areas.
Klima-Therm has introduced a new range of Rhoss high efficiency air-cooled chillers based on the Turbocor magnetic levitating compressor, available in both HFO and HFC refrigerant options.
The TurboPOWER range, available on short-lead time of six weeks, covers capacities from 300 to 1100 kW on HFC R134a, and an eco-version on HFO 1234ze refrigerant in capacities from 323.2 to 948.6 kW.

Midlands-based makers of the 'Blade Compressor', Lontra announced an update this week with Mazak to help develop its technology in new markets.
The Lontra Blade Compressor is a compact, double acting rotary compressor which delivers a significant improvement in efficiency and reliability. The compressor is particularly suited to 'energy intensive' industries.
To meet European efficiency targets the refrigeration industry must make use of advanced compressor technology, according to a recent statement by Brent Hall from ICS Cool Energy.
Compressors are the biggest energy consumers in a refrigeration system, such as a chiller or direct refrigeration system. To meet carbon reduction targets, the refrigeration industry is being encouraged to adopt using the latest, most efficient compressors.
ICS Cool Energy, a temperature control specialist, believes the refrigeration industry is going to have a tough time reducing energy consumption from compressors without affecting productivity.
Bitzer, the German compressor manufacturer, has approved its two-stage reciprocating compressors for use with new, low GWP refrigerants.
The company announced that it has approved R448A and R449A, the low global warming potential alternative refrigerants to R404A and R507A, for use with its compressors.
