Temporary heating and cooling systems specialist, Carrier Rental Systems, has won a contract to keep a production company's film set comfortable over 39 weeks of filming.
The production company converted an old factory in London into a film set, and created workshops, a tech centre and dressing rooms. Each of the six areas needs to properly heated, ventilated and air conditioned to keep the film crew, actors and equipment working at their best.
“Because of the age of the building, there was no existing HVAC infrastructure. The client asked us to equip the site with high-efficiency temporary HVAC services so it can operate to full, modern standards during the 39-week film production period.”
To keep the space clean and dust-free while they built the set, Carrier Rental Systems used porous fabric ducting to supply low velocity air to prevent fine, air-borne particles from being pushed into the film set.
The crew can switch the system on and off remotely when the set is being used. After a take, they can switch it on to supply cool air quickly using the quiet, low vibration system.
