The EU regulation (514/2014) states that companies involved in making, importing or exporting F-gases have to submit their verification data by 30th June. That only applies if they have placed 10,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent or more of HFCs in the previous calendar year into the market. Verification will also be necessary for companies who import equipment containing HFCs from 2018.
The EU Commission was keen to state that the paper is only guidance and that companies don not have to follow the approach set out in the paper as long as they meet F-Gas regulation requirements.
