ASHRAE president Sheila Hayter presents the award to Steve Gill
Steve Gill received the John F James International Award at the ASHRAE Winter Conference in Atlanta.

The award recognises members of ASHRAE who have done the most to enhance the society’s international presence.
Steve is the immediate past president of the Institute of Refrigeration and worked to forge closer links between the groups during his term of office. He has been a member of ASHRAE’s refrigeration committee since 2017.

The award is presented in honour of late British engineer John James, a former fellow of both ASHRAE and CIBSE, who was widely respected for his work in integrating mechanical and electrical building engineering services.

Steve was presented with the award by ASHRAE president Shelia Hayter, who also commented on his efforts to establish World Refrigeration Day in her opening address at the conference.
